For teachers and schools
Every pupil can compose.
Graphic scores let pupils write music with shapes, colour and lines before they read a note.HUBBUB gives your class a page, a timeline and a playhead, so they can draw a piece, watch it unfold and perform it together.
Why it works in class
Composing, without the barriers.
No notation needed
Pupils compose with lines, shapes, colour and words, so everyone can take part from the first lesson, whether or not they read music.
Made for groups
Give each group or instrument its own lane. HUBBUB prints a separate part for each one, ready to rehearse.
See it in time
Press Play and a playhead moves through the score in real time, with an optional count-in, so the class can perform together.
Nothing to install
HUBBUB runs in a web browser on laptops, desktop computers and iPads. Put it on the board and go.
A lesson idea
A class soundscape in 40 minutes.
A simple first lesson for any age. You drive HUBBUB on the board, and the class does the composing.
- 5 minutes
Open the example score on the board and press Play. Ask the class what they think each shape might sound like.
- 5 minutes
Choose a theme together, such as a storm, a busy street or a sunrise. Split the class into three or four groups and give each group a lane.
- 15 minutes
Build a one-minute score on the board, with each group suggesting the marks for their lane. Talk about what loud, quiet, long and short might look like.
- 10 minutes
Press Play with a count-in and perform it, using voices, body percussion or classroom instruments. Then change the page length from 60 to 30 seconds and play it again: the playhead moves twice as fast.
- 5 minutes
Export the parts, or share a view-only link so pupils can watch the score on their own screens.
Licences and safeguarding
How it works for schools.
Teacher licences, available now
One annual invoice covers your teachers and music leaders. Staff join with their school email address or a private link, and get every feature.
Pupils can watch and perform
Pupils can open a teacher's view-only link or the free viewer to watch a score, play along and print their part. They don't need an account, and nothing is stored about them.
Child-safe pupil accounts, on the way
Pupil accounts are being prepared for under-18s. They will never receive marketing emails, will only work with people in their own school, and the school decides when they are deleted. We'll ask your school to sign a data processing agreement first.
- Data kept in the EU. HUBBUB's database is hosted in the European Union.
- No ads, no tracking. Nobody's data is sold or used to train AI.
- Your scores stay yours. Everything your staff and pupils make belongs to them.
